What is normal rate of sending data?? It was in the digit of bytes in 19s. Now it varies with devices we are sending and medium we are using. For sending data from one place to another on hard drive can be faster then downloading a file. Flash drives have high data transfer rates than compact disks.
What is the value of data transfer you know or have listened?? If you are tech googler than you may know that last data was 10 terabites per second. It is much more faster speed than I can copy my files from one folder to another in same hard drive. But now we come to know that speed doubles in less than a year . That is the transfer rate of data is now 26 terabits per second.
Fellows from KIT instutions somewhere in Europe have made it tested in there lab.An optical fast Fourier transform scheme was used that provides the necessary computing power to encode lower-bitrate tributaries into 10.8 and 26.0 Tbit s?1 line-rate orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) data streams and to decode them from fibre-transmitted OFDM data streams. Experiment was tested for 50 km and then decoded to get original data. The data was carried well.
What does it signifies?
Now question arises do we need this much of transfer capacity?? .. Yes , KIT SAYS:
A few years ago, data rates of 26 terabits per second were deemed utopian even for systems with many lasers.” “and there would not have been any applications. With 26 terabits per second, it would have been possible to transmit up to 400 million telephone calls at the same time. Nobody needed this at that time. Today, the situation is different.
This transfer rate means we can transmit 400 millions of phone signals in a second. We can transmit 700 million dvds in a second. and so on.
