If you are using the latest Firefox 4 then you might have noticed that the ‘Save and Quit’ option is missing when you try to close your Firefox with multiple tabs open. In the older version, if more than one tabs are opened in the browser, closing the browser would alert you to decide whether to save the tabs before exit, so that the tabs can be restored automatically when you launch Firefox next time.
How to Enable Save and Exit Feature
1) Open your Firefox 4.
2) In the address bar type “about:config” without quotes and press enter.
3) In the next page it will warn you and ask you to promise that you’ll be careful. Click on the button and go to the next page.
4) At the filter bar, type browser.showQuitWarning and hit enter.
5) Double click on the filtered entry to change its value to true.
6) Now Close Firefox 4 with multiple Tabs. It will prompt for “Save and Quit” and you are done.
