Windows Cairo :
- Cairo was Bill gates vision of "information at your fingertips". Microsoft operating designers works on this operating system for almost 6 years 1991-1996.
Cairo was announced at the 1991 Microsoft Professional Developers Conference by Jim Allchin.
Microsoft also gave a demo O.S. to some people.
Some key-feature of Cairo OS
Cairo used distributed computing.
User interface developed for Cairo was later used in Windows 95.
Nashville :
Nashville was operating system by Microsoft Windows scheduled to be released in 1996.
Nashville added Internet integration features to the Windows 95 and NT 4.0 desktop.
Nashville was the only operating system in which web browser (Internet Explorer 3.0) comes with inbuilt file manager.
In Nashville Microsoft Office documents could be opened from Internet Explorer with the help of Activex Technology.
Wallpaper could be replaced by dynamic web-pages.

Neptune
Neptune was Windows operating system that was based on Windows 2000 and was under development by Microsoft during 1999
It was the first consumer version of Windows to be built on NT code instead of
Windows 9x.
Its user-interface is very smiler to Windows-XP.
It has inbuilt firewall which was later integrated into Windows XP as the Windows Firewall !!

Odyssey :
Odyssey was Windows operating system aimed at the business sector was based on Windows 2000 and was under development by Microsoft during 1999 based on NT kernel.
Odyssey would have been called Windows NT 6.0
